A space made for you, together

Therapy that feels like
coming home

Most couples arrive at therapy tired. Tired of the same loop, tired of feeling misunderstood, quietly afraid that things may not get better. That exhaustion is real, and it deserves to be met with something more than a clipboard and a clinical office.

Hearth is a boutique private practice built on a simple belief: that the space where you do the hard work matters as much as the work itself. Warm, unhurried, and deeply personal, Hearth offers the intimacy that corporate therapy platforms simply cannot.

Here, you are not a case file. You are a couple with a real story — and the capacity for real change.

Every couple carries the capacity
to find their way back to each other —
with the right support, they do.

The Process

What working together
actually looks like

01

A conversation, not an intake form

We begin with a warm, unhurried initial consultation — a chance for you to share what's brought you here, and for us to see whether Hearth is the right fit. There is no pressure, no forms to fill before you walk in the door. Just a conversation.

02

Understanding your relationship's particular landscape

In early sessions, we take time to understand both of you as individuals and as a couple — your communication patterns, what triggers conflict, and what you each most need from this partnership. This foundation shapes everything that follows.

03

Doing the work — gently, then deeply

Regular sessions use evidence-based methods — including Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy approaches — to move from reactive patterns toward real connection. You will leave each session with something concrete, not just talked-about.

04

Building what lasts

The goal is never dependency on therapy. It is a relationship that can sustain itself — with the tools, the language, and the understanding to navigate what comes next. Progress is visible. Growth is real.

What You Receive

A practice built
entirely for two

Hearth is a boutique private practice — which means your experience here is shaped around your relationship specifically, not a generic program. Here is what that means in practice.

A couple walks hand in hand on a tranquil wooden pathway surrounded by nature.

Individual attention, not a program

Your sessions are shaped by what you and your partner actually need — not a fixed module sequence. Treatment evolves as you do.

Evidence-based methods

Sessions draw on the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy — approaches with decades of research demonstrating real outcomes for real couples.

A therapist who truly knows you

You work with one dedicated therapist throughout — someone who learns the texture of your relationship, not just its presenting issues.

Premarital counseling available

Couples building toward marriage are welcome at Hearth. Premarital sessions focus on communication, conflict, and the foundations of a lasting partnership.

A sanctuary, not a waiting room

The environment of care matters. At Hearth, the space — physical or virtual — is intentionally warm, private, and entirely free of clinical sterility.

The Approach

Methods that move people —
not just paperwork

A cozy home office desk setup with warm lighting, featuring a plant and modern lamp.

There is no single method that works for every couple. Hearth draws from several evidence-based approaches, choosing what fits the moment and what fits you. The aim is never to diagnose your relationship — it is to understand it deeply enough to help it change.

Gottman Method

Built on over four decades of research into what makes relationships thrive or fail. Focuses on friendship, conflict management, and shared meaning — the structural pillars of a lasting partnership.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Addresses the deeper emotional cycles underneath conflict — attachment, fear of abandonment, the need to feel seen. EFT has one of the strongest research bases of any couples therapy approach.

Narrative and integrative approaches

When helpful, sessions also draw on narrative therapy — helping you see and re-tell the story of your relationship in a way that opens space for something different.

Questions

Things couples often
ask before they begin

Many couples come to therapy well before a crisis — often when they notice they are having the same arguments without resolution, feel emotionally distant, or sense that communication has quietly broken down. You do not need to be in serious trouble to benefit. Some of the most productive work happens when couples are willing to invest in a relationship that still has strong foundations.

Skepticism is welcome here. It is one of the most common feelings couples bring through the door. The therapist will not ask you to suspend disbelief — only to give it a genuine try. The initial consultation is low-pressure precisely because we want you to decide for yourselves whether this is the right fit, without feeling committed to anything.

Yes. Sometimes couples arrive uncertain whether they want to continue the relationship — and therapy can help clarify that, too. The goal at Hearth is not to insist on any particular outcome. It is to help both of you understand what you truly need and to make a considered, honest decision about the path forward.

Duration varies significantly depending on what you are working through and how quickly progress unfolds. Some couples achieve meaningful, lasting change in a focused period of several months. Others benefit from longer-term support. This is something we discuss openly, and revisit together as your work evolves — there is no fixed program or arbitrary endpoint.

Hearth operates as a private-pay practice. This allows us to maintain complete confidentiality, avoid insurance-mandated diagnoses, and keep session frequency and duration determined by your needs rather than a plan's requirements. We are happy to provide a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement, and we encourage you to reach out to discuss what makes sense for your situation.
